Before going and buying a new mouse, it might be worth cleaning it. Sometimes, dirt can built up winder the buttons (especially if you're in a dusty apartment with a high humidity). If you're comfortable opening it up and cleaning with a soft cloth, do so - it might help. just be sure that any cleaning solution you use is dry before closing and using the mouse again. Or you could just run a cotton tip swap under the button and see if that clears it out.
Left click to find, Ithink,is caused by the mouse being oriented to a left hander.
If you can't get a new mouse straight away, and it looks like you need to do that, you can use MouseKeys - it takes some getting used to but it's better than nothing. you can activate them through the control panel (start>>run>>control - accessibility). You can use the tab button to move between the fields (a dotted box will appear around the currently selected option).
Hope this helps. thankfully, mice are cheaper thna cheap these days. The PDF file might help too:)
Good Luck!

Follow the 3 options one by one.
1. Reinstall the drivers of your mouse and see if they are installed correctly.
2. If it doesn't work, buy a new mouse.
3. If it doesn't work, buy a new computer.
