Well someone I know has not finished their high school diploma she is in her early 20's and a few credits away (about one semester). Has one year experience as a costumer service rep, 5 months collector and some office clerk experience. I'm helping with her resume but I don’t know what to put in it if she has no H.S. Diploma and very little experience. Any suggestions? I’m looking for something that would not make her look bad for not completing H.S.

Omit the education portion. As far as experience, don't focus on chronology---focus on tasks and responsibilities. For dates don't put donw months/days, just stick with years. (i.e. 2003-2004) If you need more "fluff", Insert a section regarding special skills. Most likely she will need to fill out some sort of application at some point, let that be the time she explains her education situation. Good luck....you're doing a good thing!

Most importantly.....encourage her to finish school :)

put down the years she has been in high school.. in a numbers sense there is no way the accurate information presented could ever be questioned.. I know of very few employers that demand to see a diploma as a requirement to employment..
say she went to 3 1/2 years of high school starting in 2000 ...
2000-2001 freshman
2001-2002 sophomore
2002-2003 junior
2003-2004 would have been her senior year..
as long as she made it past january.. the information is factually correct 2000-2004 is 4 years of high school.. Everyone (well..99%) in history could be accused of stretching the realitites of their history on a resume. It is the norm. If it is that big of a deal.. all community colleges have a G.E.D. testing course.. and taking the preliminary courses is not a requirement for most.. just find out when the test is.. pay the fee.. ($40-$50) and be done with it.
Good Luck :)

Tell her to join the military. I am a 21 year old female in the Air Force. It's great. I come from a wealthy family and decided to do something "different" with my life. "Boot camp" isn't hard, really. It's so easy that it's not even called "boot camp," in the Air Force it's called basic training. It's a great way to get training, experience, money, credit, guaranteed job, and if she gets out after 4 years it looks great on applications. Actually, she would have jobs lined up for her anyway with her training.

well you did not give the reason as to why they droped out,but you can only put in there achivements, and dwell on the possatives,if this is not enought then she might like to concider returning as a mature age student either full time or part time and get her school deploma,i done this and it was a very rewarding experiance which then opened many doors for me

I took classes at a community college before I finished high school, so on the education portion of my resume I just listed the college and omitted my high school. Have her take just one course at a community college and you can then omit the high school without omitting all of education.
