There is no season for catching crabs, although it is much harder in the winter than in the summer when the crabs are more active.
you need to target their most likely hiding places and use good local bait to attract.
The best crabs are in Norfolk, as can be attested by anyone who eats crabs in Cromer.

summer when they peel there shells,try looking under rocks or bury a few bits of drainpipe in the sand at an angle so they have something to hide under.
