My mother was my grandmother's only child. In the will, it says "it is my express desire for my assets to be conserved for my grandchildren upon her death." Can my mother sell the house?

Legally she can, unless the will specifies that the house is to remain in her possession until she dies and then passes on to you. From just that one sentance it is clear that your grandmother desired to look out for your welfare also, however if she willed everything to her daughter with an "express desire" and your mother wants to sell the house you would have to fight it in probate court. With just the information you've given it's hard to say, but it sounds like you are concerned that your mother is going to sell a house and you don't want her too. If that's the case you need to get a consultation with an attorney familiar with Probate and he can let you know where you stand on the issue of the house. A lot depends on what the entire will specifies. Good Luck!!

Your grandmother's wish is for her estate to be handed down from generation to generation. Each generation building on the existing assets. In that way, all her future heritage will be able to profit from her estate, not just one generation. It would go against your grandmother's wishes for your mother to sell the house, unless she could do so to build upon the assets in a long term way that would be more beneficial than the house and property.

NO!!! CONSERVE MEANS TO PROTECT FROM LOSS OR HARM AND PRESERVE. SO WHAT DOES THAT TELL YOU??? THE HOUSE SHOULD BE LEFT AS IS, AND KEPT UP OVER TIME AND WHY WOULD YOU SELL A HOUSE THAT HAS A PROBABLE OR DEFINITE AMOUNT OF EQUITY ( $$$$$ ) VESTED IN THE PROPERTY, AND CAN MAKE $$$$ OVER TIME ESPECIALLY IF YOU ARE THE OWNERS AND STILL OWN IT. IF YOUR MOM IS THE GRANDCHILD THAT THE WILL STATES THEN " NO WAY " CAN SHE SELL THE HOUSE.

YOU SHOULD FIGURE OUT THE EXECUTOR OF THE WILL, & DO YOU HAVE A LAWYER?? IF YOU DONT YOU SHOULD
