Accept the situation for what it is or move on. Since he's the son of your dad's friend...tread lightly. Good luck!

This thread is really annoying.
1. Don't change yourself for a guy. You should be proud of your beliefs. Every relationship we have with our spiritual side is personal and a gift. You DO NOT need to turn Baptist in order to be around a Baptist; equally yoked is nonsense and just makes them seem like a cult.
2. Avoid touchy conservative subjects: abortion, gay marriage, women's rights, etc.
3. You won't break his faith like some people seem to think. If he's as much of a Baptist as he says he is a. already "saved" and b. won't be persuaded to change by anything less than an act of God (or Buddha hehe).
Good luck!

Couldn't stand what? That he's a baptist? Maybe love will cause one of you to convert. But religions should never be what divides people, it should be what unites them. As long as you both respect the other's beliefs everything should be fine.

Stay away from him.
The last thing he needs from you is to break his faith so you can have him for a mere nights pleasure. But if you like the guy, respect what he beleives in and don't make any attempt to change him. If that's your mission, Buddah has to be fair about the whole situation and kick your *ss around for a while till you learn what it means to be a self-centred, self-ritious, idiot.

Do what you think is best. If it's the son of your dad's friend then don't you think it's just fine? I mean, it you have feelings for someone, why let religious beliefs get in the way of your possible happiness?

religion doesnt really matter to me when it comes to dating someone. If you like the person enough, you'll just go out with him. I'm sure it'll work out. I'm mormon and my last Gf was catholic. It worked out great ( for 3 days, something i did). I'm sure you'll find the answer. Good luck and I hope it works out.
