Yes it is illogical. It's illogical to ban any movie anywhere. If people don't like the idea of a movie, no one is forcing them to go see it. But let the rest of the free world make up its own mind!

In India things work in a different way. Religion holds a very important place here and mixing it with Politics has made it more dangerous. Also it has been promoted in India that Da-Vinci Code is Non-Fiction. Thats the Reason it was Banned for a while unless it was specifically mentioned that its a work of Fiction and should be taken in that sense.

At this point it seems illogical, the thing is, that even though the movie as a whole is a work of fiction, the book itself seems to possibly have some truth in it, and to believe this, undermines the whole biblical principal that has been taught for hundres of years. That is why there is so much controversy.
