It sounds like one of the company's that used to be around in the 70's and 80's that wanted you to stuff envelopes for them, they would send you the stuff, and you would stuff envelopes for them, and they would pay you so much for each envelope you stuffed for them... well, they would never pay off, or they would not pay the amount they said they would.. it would end up like being one cent for every envelope .. you would have to work 24/7 to ever make any money off of it.. So really the only person that was ever making any money was the guy that you were stuffing the envelopes for.. it was ads for his business. I tried it in the 70's and worked really hard at it for about a month and think I made $25.. gave it up really fast.. Good luck to you if you try it, but hope you don't give them to much of your hard earned money !!

The only ones who make money off this are the ones that sell you the mailing list. This is a scam similar to "Make money at home stuffing envelopes" You either put your name at the bottom and everyone else sends you money when it gets to the top or others never invest. You spends hundreds on stamps and get little or nothing back.
No company with a legitimate job/investment will require you to do something like this. Check out the name of the company at the better business burea (www.bbb.com) or with your local state attorney general.

You got a letter with a way to make money that involves stamps and a mailing list , and it's NOT a chain letter?
hmm...
How does Mail Fraud sound?
From the United States Postal service website :
http://www.usps.com/postalinspectors/fraud/chainlet.htm
There's at least one problem with chain letters. They're illegal if they request money or other items of value and promise a substantial return to the participants. Chain letters are a form of gambling, and sending them through the mail (or delivering them in person or by computer, but mailing money to participate) violates Title 18, United States Code, Section 1302, the Postal Lottery Statute. (Chain letters that ask for items of minor value, like picture postcards or recipes, may be mailed, since such items are not things of value within the meaning of the law.)

i think i got that same letter. It states how its not a chain letter when it really is. Then explains how it works. Lists 3 people with their addresses and tells you to send them like a couple dollars each and yada yada. The apparently your name will be added to that list of three people? frankly i dont think it would work. If enough people did it your name wouldnt remain on the list of 3 long enough to get any money really. And secondly i bet your name never even makes it on the list they send the same letter to millions of people with the same 3 names and with those people with small brains and good hearts do as they are told. Thus those 3 people make millions but everyone else is just out 10 or so dollars.

There is an old saying that "If something seems too good to be true it probably is."
This sounds like a pyramid scheme to me. If you know people at your bank well enough to be able to ask a question, I'd ask the bank employee's opinion. Anyone you trust or who you know to be reputable would be a good one to ask their opinion.
If you are concerned about seeming to be foolish in asking, think how foolish you'd feel if you invested the money only to find that only those who began the scheme made a bundle of money. Actually you'd feel worse than foolish in such a circumstance. You'd be hurting financially. Better to ask the person you question at the bank how you can invest your money there and get back a reasonable and honest dividend.

Yes you can make alot of money provided the people keep it going like you did. But what if they all write yahoo answers and get the same response you got and it stops. Then you are out your money. There is a very large risk involved. Ask yourself this, if I invest in this chain letter (It really is a chain letter, I get them too, most say they are a lawyer and it is legal, but they are not) can you afford to lose whatever you put into it. If your answer is yes then it may be worth a try. I have refused to try it to this point.
10 points please

My first answer would be no. If it's such a great investment why isn't everybody doing it? There is no quick way to make 800,000, It's gotta be a scam. My second answer would be; if you absolutely have to do it then don't invest more then you can afford to lose, because you will lose your investment and quite possibly your identity. Best of Luck!

They may say it is "not" a chain letter, but it "is" a chain letter, no matter what you call it. There will be 2 types of people involved in it; The people who get screwed, and the ones doing the screwing. Do you really want to be either one? Go get it and run it through the shredder. Now. Go on, get hopping! Throw it away!
