Compaq Presario 1200XL-110 Wont Turn on?

Hi, I have had the mention computer for sometime. Its been giving the problem of not turning on. I have remove the batt. For a couple of days and then it will turn on; but now its all but gone. Has anybody else have this proble and had a solution for it? I dont Really think it has to do with the cmos...does it?

those boards and similar of that series were notorious for having th eac adapter plugs go bad, then the batt would not charge and they would not start,
