I saw a DVD that was actually a collection of shorter animations, all having to do with World War II. These shorts were fictional, but could have been based on real events. One of them was particularly poignant, about a German pilot, as I recall, that was in a fighter that was escorting a German bomber that was going to drop a German nuclear bomb over England. The pilot ended up shooting down his own bomber because he didn't want all the innocent people to die, even though doing so was sabotaging the war effort of his own country. It's been quite a while since I've seen this one, but I think the story went something like that. I liked the story because it was very compelling, and it's interesting to question about whether Germany potentially had a nuclear weapon or not.
