Sonogram prices depend greatly on where you have them done, what type, who is doing them and what they are looking for.

Sonograms can be for many things. Pregnancy being the most common and most expensive. The price will vary a bit, though.
Example.. If you have one done in the Drs. office with a tech(mine was $275 once)
, it will be a bit cheaper than if the actual Dr. does it (one of mine was $375).
At a hospital, they will probably charge a bit more because now the tech needs paid, but also so does the person who will do the actual reading on it afterwards(around $400).

Regular sonograms are cheaper than the 3-D ones, but the 3-D ones are cheaper than the new 4-D ones.

There are also free standing offices that do these types of tests only and they are generally a bit cheaper than any where else(I had one that was $250) .

So, my advice is to call around and get prices before deciding where to go.And never let a Dr. tell you that you HAVE to go to a specific one.

Ultrasound, sometimes called a sonogram or sonography, is a non-invasive test that uses high-frequency sound waves to create an image of the baby while it is in the uterus.

Ultrasound is a valuable tool that is used by doctors to confirm the age of the fetus, whether there are multiple fetuses and to confirm whether the major physically structures of the baby are developing normally. The test is often performed in your doctor's office, although you may be asked to go to the hospital so that it can be administered by a radiologist. If the test is looking for a specific problem, your doctor will recommend that it is performed by a specialist.

In the research I have done for you on this specific topic I have found prices ranging anywhere from 27.95, on up to bills accumulated through hospitals of easily quadruple that, it all comes down to the plain old rule of bargain shopping, but if you are like me and consider your childs first picture a huge deal, there is a site that offers the most innovative technolgy in this field, you may want to check it out, they offer the fore front of sonogram technology, 3D and 4D (moving picture images), for your sonogram, and they run specials frequently to help abait the cost. Currently they have a Fathers day special of 99 dollars.

Obviously you are expecting, or are expecting to be expecting,...(LMAO I don't think I've ever said that before), either way I wish you the best of luck and happiness.

I have included the link for the website in which you can research the ground breaking technology of 3D and 4D ultrasound sonograms,...

and in the instance that you neded your ultrasound for something other then childbirth, I apologize, I just now thought of that possibility and feel like a real goof,... well I'll include the link anywho, best of the best to ya' no matter the case, hope I helped

All the ultrasounds I had were paid for by insurance at 100%. However, I saw the explation of benefits from my insurance company, and the hospital billed them at just under $400. (That's for a basic, on top of the abdomen ultrasound. I think the transvaginal ones are slightly more expensive.) These were done in Michigan. If you're a cash-pay patient, the doctor/hospital might give you a break and charge less.
