It is a form of theft anytime the government takes money and gives it to another when public safety isn't involved. So Yes it is wrong

I agree with you! I'm tired of paying for other people's children! I chose not to have kids so I wouldn' t have to deal with that kind of thing! And isn't it enough that alot of my paycheck is going towards a so-called social security program that will more than likely not be around when i'm able to collect?

But, then again, how many more idiots would be around if everyone didn't pay the education tax?

1) Did you go to school and get an education? Did tax dollars pay for it?
2) Do you go to doctors? Do you use drugs? Do you use technology? You benefit from what these people do, most of these people got an education in public schools on tax dollars?

That is why you have to pay, so that these brains can be developed so that you can benefit from them.

Remember that it is a priority of most modern States that people are educated. For the State, direct beneficiaries of Education are: (i) society in general, and (ii) the individual itself.

You are in a way contributing for the education you should have received and not the one your children should.

It is incorrect to view Education as a SERVICE provided by the State for the benefit of PARENTS. Under this light, what you say makes perfect sense.

I agree with the current PHILOSOPHY.

But since it is nothing more than PHILOSOPHY everyone's entitled to their opinion about it ;)

BTW: Regarding JOE's comment. I'm sort of confused too, though for other reasons...

I know, ... I hate taxes, but this tax is fine with me compared to the other ones taken from my paycheck and the ones I have to pay at the end of the year and those including:
property tax --(my least favorite--so unfair!!)
vehicle taxes
Farm taxes
As well as other state and government taxes--that is not right and should be outlawed:) If they can't run the government b/c of past debts that I have not caused, it is not my place to pay for their mistakes. This may be a little cynical and maybe even sound unpatriotic, but I have a right to my opinion.
Thanks for asking!!

I think it's wrong that we have to pay anything with the way the government squanders the money...and don't worry hon..you'll have sex someday too and maybe then you'll just love paying that education tax..

Think of it as an investment. Without a portion of everyone's tax dollars going toward education, the school systems would become horrendous. They would turn out more criminals and there would be a higher chance of you getting mugged or your home getting broken into.

Yeah, I think it is completely unfair. Just think, after the education system breaks down due to lack of money, all of the gangsters, dopes, and pimps will move next door to you. I'm sure this will be good for your property value!

An educated society is desirable, and we all need to pitch in. Stop being so selfish.

A good educational system in your area keeps the property values high. Would you like to live in a nice neighborhood with a school full of illiterate hooligans nearby? I assure you that neighborhood would not be nice much longer.

that tax is just a name of type of tax. They will find another way to tax you if you have no education tax.

It is in the best interest of all people to have educated children. Get over it.

If you have no children, where do you get off calling yourself papa bear anyway?
