i rather ask "how" than "why".

The "why" question merely implies learning the reasons or causes on the topic you are addressing.
Now, the "how" question is more pro-active. It entitles an action to plan, act, evaluate and feed back on processes, mainly change.

Let me put it even more easily:
1. WHY did this bad thing happened to me?
the answer will guide you only to understand the reasons or causes, but doesn't take you anywhere near a plan or action that will get you out of the blues.
2. HOW should i proceed in order to get out of this bad thing?
now there's a question! The how will lead you to a solution, a practical way to overcome whatever is it that you are going through.

now, indulge me: WHY DO YOU ASK? ;) - lol

OK, the only answer I could give to the question without knowing more details would be "Why ask why, just know that it is".
That's what I said when my son was born 3 mo. preemie, when my son was diagnosed with CP.

Why is not complete without why not. All things must come in apposing forces. There is no meaning without it's opposition.
