I was wondering if the two work similarly and if that cider vinegar is advocated because its taste is better.

The health benefits of apple cider vinegar can't be achieved with white vineger or any othe vinegar. It isn't just that it tastes good, it has a different chemical makeup than the others.

The purported best vinegar to take for health benefits is apple cider vinegar that still has the "mother" in it (a milky substance that is a by product of the yeasts in the vinegar). You can usually only find it in health food stores or online. The vinegars carried in grocery stores (white and apple cider) are very distilled and diluted in comparison to the whole, organic applie cider vinegar.

The other vinegars have all the nutrition taken out and all that is left is the acetic acid. Apple Cider vinegar has all the nutrition in it plus it is raw. See below site for how raw is better than cooked. Also the raw vinegar has the good bacteria in it that helps intestines.

I take it you have liver issues? That is what my wife had when she was taking vinegar. She used a brown vinegar instead of the white, and it worked well and did not taste so bad. Then we got onto xango. It tastes a darn site better. On the first link, see if the reason you are taking vinegar is there. If it is, go to the second one
