{name} is a kind of social contract.you can reject a name that others have accepted it {in ordinary use}, but you loose your ability to communicate with {OTHERS}.
{NAME} of external objects generally refer to their descriptive definition as we{humans} perceive it.however {name} is a medium , a mental medium innovated by human.
if you name a horse , flash,...you just change your mind ..nothing else.

It is a matter of personal perception.
If you name the horse "Flash" then, to you, it will no longer be a horse it will be "Flash"
When you see this horse you would see it as Flash. Flash might look like, sound and act like a horse but it is Flash.
Unfortunately, personal perception means nothing to anyone else so it will only be you who will see Flash. Everyone else will see a horse.

No, I don't believe you have pondered this for years. However, if a horse, rather than myself, were "the Flash", would the horse vibrate through walls into the girls' locker room?

Horse is universal and flash is specific. Bertrand Russell explains this in detail in the "The Problems of Philosophy."

If it walks like a horse, sounds like a horse, looks like a horse, and has the genetic makeup of a horse, then yes, it's a horse regardless of what you call it.
If I call you an apple, that doesn't make you an apple.

Yup.
It will be a horse named Flash.
And if it's not heavy, then it's also light.
What's in a name?
A description of something.
If it doesn't describes that accurately, then it is a bad name.
Let's not give horses a bad name.

A horse is a horse.. no matter what its name. Think of it this way... is a dog a dog if you named him cat? Of course... he is a dog... being called cat doesnt neccisaraly make him a cat.
