I'm scared because I've been reading more and more about rendered products. It is disgusting. It includes all kinds of dead animals, such as roadkill, euthanized pets, cattle, pigs, horses, and supermarket leftovers. It also includes pesticides, styrofoam, chemicals, plastics, flea collars. Disgusting! This is all made into foods for animals. It is fed to cattle, pigs, and chickens, and pets! Chemicals can be ingested by humans when eating meat from these animals, either through their tissues or contaminated through feces. It can also be ingested through milk and maybe even eggs. Tallow, which is derived from this process, is put into make-up, soaps, candles, and other products. We are feeding our pets dangerous, toxic, and plain disgusting food. These products are being fed to the animals that we eat. We are placing roadkill and euthanized animals on our faces when we wear make-up! There is basically NO government regulation on these rendering plants! This is ridiculous!

Now you've got me scared and for good reason too.
What can we the consumer do about this anyway?
It's all up to us the consumer as our own government doesn't seem to give a hoot about what we eat or put on our skin or what we feed our beloved pets either.
This is as shameful as it can get and to think that no one cares to do anything about any of this is even more scary.
I for one appreciate you bringing this to my attention now.
Wouldn't it be a wonderful world if our own government would research and define what's safe and not safe for us to eat and use?
I would have never guessed that I had eaten road kill or worse or given my dog or cat that and worse. Everything listed is totally disgusting by any ones standards but unfortunately not our own governments, shame on them for not protecting us as we have trusted them to do so, shame on them!!!!
Again I thank you for bring this to my attention.

Well, a lot goes on in our country that people really don't know or care about as they go through their happy me me day. I do know that I read where a lot of cattle that die from not being able to produce milk anymore is sold to fast food joints and I have not eaten meat for 8 years . I feel and look better and I grew up on a farm where we had good meat.

Sick, sick, sick. Thanks for the info. Makes me glad I'm a vegetarian. A reasonable one, folks. It's not only fanatics who make this choice. One of the weirdest things I ever read was a Yahoo Science news story recently, about how people in different states are being seen for a disorder which makes them think that creatures are coming through their skin. Docs have no idea what this is-they're treating it with psych. drugs, telling people they're crazy! In fact, cellulose fibers are coming out of these people-strange! My husband's theory makes sense: bio-engineered corn....Let's feed animals what they naturally eat. And if it's too expensive to be humane, maybe we should stop eating, wearing, and deriving from them so much. Peace. Buttercup

Any food product in the U.S. is subject to the jurisdiction and inspection by the USDA. Besides, most all consumer products and pet foods have an ingredients list...

And please notice that all of the disgusting "facts" are from the eighties and located on websites that sell "healthy alternatives" LOL!!!

I'm sure they have no reason to spread fear and panic about our beloved pets now would they!?!?!?!?! LOLOLOLOL
