Frankly I've noticed that the quality of the product coming from China has improved. Must admit that in thinking about the product coming from China I wonder if some day we will no longer be a free people, but be overcome by the population of China. This thought in and of itself makes me aware that I live with fear just as others do. At some point I hope that ALL people come to realize that we all live on This One Planet and must come together in the realization that we will survive or expire together if we aren't careful and considerate of our actions. We ALL need to care for our planet and each other. China's products are there because people want to earn a living. People everywhere want to make a living and yet if you don't have a job you can't purchase goods. China has so many people. The Chinese people are progressing, but also have their own ecological issues which are worsening in a similar manner to our situation. That realization while watching a program called China Rising made me sad. Someone needs to accomplish a reasonable system of balancing products and goods while considering that others must live too.

Well ... I can remember as a child ... the "made in Japan" label
meant that it was JUNK. Well ... China, unfortunately, is headed
for the same fate.

There is a new coalition that business are joining after being
bitten by the "let's make it in China" bug. It's called "CHINA NO"
and all businesses who join verify they will never do business
with China ever again.

Too many times, the Chinese businesses are substituting
required components with inferior components once the
U.S. rep's leave China. This allows them to make even more
money but also means an inferior product over all.

You can see evidence of this by checking the safety recalls
at the Consumer Products And Safety Commission.

Hey ... it's a sad day when 'Zippo' has to recall a cigarette lighter
that was made in China. It should have continued it's time
honored position of manufacturing them all in the USA.

On a personal note .. if I see a product is made in China ... I search
for an alternative.

just like any other products, or goods. If it is cheap stuff, I decide if I want to buy it, and if it is not cheap stuff, I still decide if I want to buy it. I think Chinese have the same rights as others, to sell what they want to sell, and because of that, I say the more the better.

As long as its branded, its good even if its made in china.
But if it's a chinese brand, then usually don't have the confidence to buy it unless IF it has a long period of warranty.
It takes time to build trust from consumers

i truely wish we didnt have to buy them.it puts our own people out of jobs just so big business can save a little cash.i think it would be better if we just made everything we needed and let them buy from us.anytime we buy from them i truely believe it is taking one americans job.and most of it doesnt work half the time anyways.
so i say we build our own products, give back jobs to our people, and quit making some business guy rich.
