They won a chance to have dinner with her (they won a bid, actually) and when they sat down they (PETA) started haranguing her about fur. What was supposed to be a lighthearted event was transformed into a political showdown, and Beyonce left without commenting. It seems very wrong to make out like you're just going to have conversation for the evening and then spend the whole time trying to convert/shame another person into your way of thinking. I say, am I alone on this?

ProudCaucasian: Yes, actually, I am the GRAMMAR (not 'grammer') police. But can you find Caucasia on a map?

I think it PETA was wrong in this case, and that this was done in bad taste. First, Beyonce having dinner with them was an act of CHARITY (benefitting "Save the Music"). What was the thinking there? "Let's make Beyonce look bad....WHILE she's doing charity!"

As a result, PETA has created this divide and hurt their cause. While Beyonce's use of fur should be questioned, they certainly chose the wrong venue. Jeers to PETA.

What they did to her is just wrong!

Imagine miserable Beyonce waking that day and going to all sorts of salons to get her hair perfect, smiling and nervous what her "fans" might think of her. And she gets there, thinking that maybe they'll ask her for an autograph. And then they completely embarrass her and make her out to be this moster who murders cats and dogs (they're apparently an endangered species all of a sudden) to make napkins and cover her car with and make carpets and dresses and people and cookies with.

How would you feel?

If she cried herself to sleep that night, nobody cared because cats and dogs are on the verge of extinction and we should be cloning them, not making out of them.

I don't understand what's going on with the whole homeboy thing.

I respect PETA, because I believe in what they fight for. I agree some of their "tactics" are unethical, but in the same sense, I've seen some of the videos displaying what really happens to those animals behind closed doors, and it's sickening.

If you knew they weren't going to fight, why did you post the question? False advertising? Hmmm? Oh, and it's nice to see you're spelling your name correctly. Please be very nice to the person who spelled it out for you.

yes, people shouldn't run people down. if its all lighthearted and amusing, whats a few witty insults gonna hurt. if its amusing then fine, but i don't think it was and some people cross the lines of pushing their beliefs on others.
