I know that I am sitting here, typing this, experiencing my life and interacting with my loved ones... but what about death? Do you think we'll know, realize, and be able to interact within our death experience? I'm not asking about the afterlife or religious beliefs... just about experiencing the world arounds us.

I have to disagree with a previous respondent who said, "What do you remember before you were born? Well that is exactly what it will be like after you die." Has he been dead already? How does he know? I THINK -- although no one can know for sure -- that we will certainly know when we're dead. When you ask about experiencing the world around us, you're automatically asking about the afterlife, with some interplay with religious beliefs -- there's no separating one from the other. Because I believe there's an afterlife, I also believe that we will experience the world around us, but on another plane. Certainly we'll be able to interact after death, but primarily and most directly with those who have already died as well.

I think if we are meant to stay on the Earth after death, then we will till' our business is done. And as for interacting and experiencing the world around us, I think it would depend on the life you led. For example, if you led a normal, happy life, you would experience after-death as something to be respected and appretiated. If you led a bad, sinful life, then after-death would be darker and more grusome.
Also, I think that we would watch over our loved ones, and our loved one's loved ones.

Since i think death is just another phase of life, yes, i think we will be aware. Having had a close call i can tell you that i was filled with a feeling of love, peace and acceptance that i simply can't describe in words.

I don't think we will know that we are gone because we will be dead.

Ahh, but what if you have already died and what you are doing is your "eternal reward?" Sorry, couldn't resist.
