Someone once told me that it's extremely arrogant for a human being to think that he or she can change the environment of an entire planet. Look at Lake Erie. It cleaned itself up a few years ago! And the hurricanes ensuing from these climate changes? There was a time period not too long ago when hurricanes as big as the Katrina hit the Gulf Coasts. People say that right now, the Earth is just going through another cycle. Scientists are split with the idea of global warming and how we're harming our environment (many have even dismissed Al Gore's An Inconvenient Truth, and others believe that it's just a political ploy). Why are we destroying it, you ask? Well, there's over six billion of us. You can't expect everyone to have environmental conservatism at the top of all of their lists. Yes, we do have the intelligence to do so, and we should be doing more, but the Bush Administration are putting it off to the side, claiming that there are far more important issues at hand right now (remember, a majority of the administration have worked in some sort of industry like that of timber or oil. Look up the Kyoto Treaty too, and see how many countries have signed it, and which haven't). Each and every one of us are guilty for harming our planet one way or another, and it's up to us to decide how we're going to pay back for what we have done.

Aren't you spending some national cash on checking out other ones? It's not like you've signed any binding Kyoto protocols on this one, unlike most others on this planet.
Saudi/Bush alliance - once this one's mined out, those First Families are on the First shuttle out of here ... where have you been for the last 40 years? Don't you even have your name down for a seat, or are you still an out-standing voter? Keep your balance in the aisle, because you are one of the few remaining vandals.

We think as humans that we are the smartest creatures on the planet, but in reality we are the dumbest! No other species on the planet has the ability to cause mass destruction on a global scale, only humans. No other species preys upon itself for gain of material wealth, only humans. No other species has contaminated the environment, polluted the lakes and rivers, only humans. No other species have wiped out other countless number of species into extinction, only humans. When animals fight or go to war against each other it only effects them. When humans go to war it not only kills man but it destroys everything in that region ,including animals and plant life. We have sooo much to learn, I hope we learn it before we destroy ourselves!!!

First I do not believe 'we' will ever destroy this planet. It has been through far worse things than man already and has survived. Now if you are saying that we are making it inhabitable for humans then yes we are slowly doing that. This planet will be around long after mans tenure on it has ended.
