It´s easy. When you multiply with decimals, just multiply as per normal.. .25x120. Remember, that when you have a number that is 1 or greater than 1, it is understood that the decimal point is to the right of the number. like so... 120. so if you are multiplying 120. X .25 you must multiply as per normal which = 3000. then move the decimal point to the left 2 places to represent the the fact that .25 was two decimal points to the left of starting position. It works for all possibilities.. eg. if you want to multiply 450 X .345 you would do the same, but you would move the decimal point 3 places to the left in the final answer, like so. 450 x345=155250. now all you do is move the decimal point to the left 3 positions.. it now becomes 155.250. Don´t worry about decimal points when multiplying, make the placing of your decimal point the last thing you do.

The answer is 30.00. Multiply to get the answer like you normally would. Now, you see where the decimal point is on the bottom of the problem? count how many numbers there are to the right of the decimal. Now, go to your final answer and count over from the right the same amount of places. So what I mean is the problem has 2 numbers to the right of the decimal. the answer also has two to the right of the decimal. got it? ask again if not

all you do is arrange the big number over the smaller number. Multiply regularly. Then count the number of spaces from the end of the number with the decimal to the decimal. in htis case it would be two. when you have the answer to the multiplying start on the right and go to the left the number of spaces you counted and put the decimal there. so the answer would be 30

just multiply 25 by 120 .you will get the answer 3000
now put the decimal point before the last two numbers then you will get the answer 30.00 because in .25 their were two digits after the decimal point.
remember :the zeros after the decimal have no value so we simply write 30 which is the answer.

first of all take the 120 and place the .25 under it.now multiply 5 x 0=0,5x2=10,hold the 1 and write 0,now 5x1=5 and add the 1=6.you now have 600.now for the 2,start it off by writing a 0 under the last 0,multiply 2x0=0,2x2=4,2x1=2.you now have 2400 under the 600.add these 2 numbers=3000.now since you have the decimal moved over 2 spaces,do it here for a total of 30.00

x.25
________

when multiplying decimals you multiply forgeting about the decimal for just a minute then when you are finished you count over the number of points . This would have been easy if you thought of it as if you have 120 quarters how much money would you have. I hope this helps.
