SHUT THE DOOR!!!
No really, there's a great book called "War and Peace" Use it to bash any uninvited pests, including inlaws.
Raid works pretty well too.

First you need to place anything open(food) into a sealed container and clean any crumbs. Second, use boric acid powder ($1.00) by sprinkling it under cabinets and around the baseboards. This will kill roaches. Then you need to get a product from Home Depot called Real Kill indoor/outdoor insect control and spray this all around the outside perimeter of the house. You can also spray it all around inside. It has no smell and it is OK with pets. It only costs about $6.50 per gallon and is the best thing I have ever found. Lasts at least 6 months. This will work for ants, scorpions, roaches and just about anything if it kills scorpions.
The ants are very hard to deal with. But they want water. Make sure that everything is dry. Sinks, tubs counters etc. The Home Depot product works for them but menthol spray also works well until the smell is gone. Chalk marked around your house works....they will not cross a chalk mark. Salt sprinkled will also work. But you need to solve the problem at the start or you will constantly be fighting it.... so dry up everything and use the spray.
What you really should be concerned about are the mosquitoes as they can carry West Nile Virus. Get rid of any water source that they may be breeding in around your home. make sure that your screens are all in place and that the doors are not open. If you absolutely cannot get them removed before you go to sleep then invest in some netting to put around the bed. It can actually look like a romantic dream room. I have also found that a small lamp left on in another room will attact some small flying moths and other flying things and the bulb will fry them thus leaving you alone for the night.
What is happening is that you have bugs and the lizards think you have a cafeteria so they come looking for food. Getting rid of these pests will get rid of the lizards. Actually, the lizards are good in getting rid of the roaches and ants. But who wants to live with them?
These products are fantastic. I have been infested with scorpions and roaches from nearby building sites and this is the only thing that has totally removed the problem for me.

Ants -- Buy Terro (its just sweet liquid with borax). They show up, eat the stuff, carry it back and within a day or so.. dead.. no harm to environment.
Cockroaches - best way is to spray insecticide. Not much else really works well.
Lizards - get a cat..
Mosquitoes - keep screens on your windows.

Keep all windows and doors closed. You could lay cockroach/insect baits around the house to get rid of them.
