People move here thinking it will be like being on vacation every day of the year. It is a big let down when they find that they actually have to work and will also begin to avoid the strip. Suddenly your bubble bursts and realize that it is like any other city. Then you find that people who live here are not very friendly. Everyone seems to stay to themselves. You probably will never get to know your neighbor. The city is designed that way. A huge brick wall surrounds almost every back yard (which is tiny compared to most other cities). People come home and pull into their garage and you never see them again. They don't sit out in their back yards or on their front porches and socialize. You pointed out some very good things about the city However almost every house looks like the next. Very little changes. Seems all houses in the developement look alike. Giant walls surround most developments to provide security but when you walk on the sidewalk that is all you see are walls. Better get use to HOA. Just adds to the politics of everyday life. The school system is one of the worst in the nation and the bus system was designed in the 70's and hasn't changed much since. Sure the buses are modern but the routes are terrible. When part of their direction is to get from one place to another includes walking distance and time between bus stops is terrible planning especially traveling N and S. Here is an article that will help burst the bubble before making a big move. Then you have people like myself that love it here.

The best way I have found was to sign up at different hotels reward center. Each hotel (depending on who owns it will have a reward or point system for play). If you are not a player you could still sign up and get some free stuff or 1/2 off or 2 for 1 tickets.

If you really wanted FREE and had the time (and patience) in the lobby of some hotels they offer totally free gifts (money, shows, buffets, etc.) for viewing a timeshare. Now, granted the viewing takes about 3 hours even though they say 90 min. and they are almost always rude if you don't purchase. But hey end the end you still have free stuff. You just have to weigh the pros and cons for yourself.

Lastly, many hotels offer coupon books with discounts on many things. They would rather offer a discount to keep you at their property in hopes that you will play.
