I planted some poppies in a pot and don't know if the soil should be damp at all times or if I should water only once a day

Twice a week, but I like your answer better in your question.
I wouldn't want have water just twice a week, but everyday.

Well, it should not be damp all times, but not dried out... Lets say if its outside and in heat you can see the plant is wilting, it needs water... I would say twice a week or once a week, or even everyday if the summer dries up the popies... You will learn to commuicate with your plant, my plants tell me when they need something, it takes time to learn to communicate... but then again Im weird.. Good Luck!

Water only when the soil is dry. You may only have to water every 2nd or 3rd day, depending on your climate.

You don't even have to water every day unless they're outside in direct sun. Start using your finger to see if the dirts dry- jam it down to your first knuckle and if it's wet, you can wait to water.

depending on the time of year if they are i part shade full sun but a first choice full sun in summer twice a day

keep soil damp if in full sun.
