dont read if you havent seen movie and plan to..
After the credits...we see Dr Moira MacTaggart and the catatonic patient. He wakes and says, "Hello Moira," and she says, "Charles?". As Xavier had explained earlier on, he has now put his consciousness into the catatonic patient.

It showed Magnito gaining back a little of his power when he tries to move the metal chess piece. The chess piece basically vibrates, but doesn't move. It also shows Xavier in control over the body of the guy that was in a coma that Xavier was having ethics conversation with his student, shown earlier in the movie. So basically the Phoenix did not essentially "kill" him.

The soul of Charles Xavier was incarnated in the body of a patient that they were treating in the school's hospital. He will be back in the next movies probably.

It gave all the above. It definitely opened the door to the 4th. A lot of people missed it- wasn't well publicized that it was going to happen. I read it on the web- my husband didn't believe me but I told him to wait any way!

Remember that video that the Professor was showing his class that he was teaching on ethics (about when is it right for a psychic to do something like occupy the body of a person who was i think brain dead?) of some guy that was basically bed ridden with some number of things wrong with him...and the doctor speaking to him was Moira something...anyhow at the end...you hear his voice (professor) say "moira" to the doctor. she looks shocked and says, "charles" and that's it...

I stayed after the credits. Charles Xavier might be alive ; ) At least...that's what the woman implied when she said his name. ^__^ That was the scene. =]

it implies that Dr.X is still alive and that that guy that has the power to move metal is regaining his powers.
