No, its not cruel. When i was younger me and my brother would shoot birds with bb guns. As long as they are supervised, and educated about guns, and know better than to shoot other people, then its ok.

Yes I do find it cruel that they do things like this. It's one thing to shoot a bird for food; however just for the hell of it is wrong. Sadly though many parents don't seem to care or want to correct their children when they do those kinds of things because many times they see it as a right of passage for their children.
It also shows a lack of respect in the use of a weapon. Who's to say that these same kids won't shoot at each other thinking it's a game. Lord knows it's happened many times by kids trained in handling gun's by their parents/grandparents who take them hunting every year with them. They get their first deer or hog and they feel the power they have with the gun in their hands. Next thing you know they get ticked off at classmates and go on their own personal sniper hunting spree. It's just sad and as I said it's really more the parents fault and responsibility to teach their children how to properly handle and use a gun even a bb gun.

Absolutely, it is cruel and even a paintball can kill a bird. I also find it incredibly cruel that the parents of some of those kids are out in the woods, practicing with those BB guns - amining at targets placed right next to their own kids and friends of the kids. As they say, the apple doesn't fall very far from the tree.

Yes it's cruel. Go to a gun range where you can shoot at targets that are not alive. While they are there, teach them gun safety. You only shoot things out in the wilderness when you are hungry and eat what you shoot.

Yes. BBs are so small that even if you hit the animal, it may not die, instead suffering with a gaping open wound that may become infected, pussy, and ridden with maggots.

Using an actual gun to hunt food with the proper training, licensing, and parental supervision is a different matter, though.

Yes because it goes from birds, to dogs, to people. Trust my I know cause that's where I started and I almost ended up in a very bad place. Thankfully I was saved by a couple of dogs that changed my life.

yes it is. it is cruel to hurt living beings that can feel pain. besides children mite think its only a game when they are young, but it subconciously puts in their mind that violence is o.k. such children grow up to be insensitive and more violent than normal people.
