Look at the question from the religion and spirituality section and see how they disagree with what the bible has to say when it's their own lifestyle in question.

soozie: It may not change their behavior, but if there are people out there who may take their antagonistic view of the LGBT community seriously, this can reduce the hurt some. Just a little bit of proof that what they tell US doesn't have to hurt.

BTW I had nothing at all to do with the "kill your disobedient kid question"... it just got me to thinking about the question I did ask.

Yes, I want to see them choke on their own ignorance. If you accept things on faith blindly and do not learn for yourself how can you expect to maintain your beliefs when they come under scrutiny? The thing that bothers me most is that most contemporary Christians exude hatred and intolerance which is the opposite of what Jesus taught. There is no doubt in my mind that Jesus would never be a Christian. My favorite biblical verse is Galations 3:28 : There is neither Jew nor Greek: there is neither bond nor free: there is neither male nor female. For you are all one in Christ Jesus.

I think this exercise of yours while interesting from a spectator's point of view is in the end futile. Those Christians that didn't know what a specific passage said and argued that it wasn't in there or should not be interpreted in that context will say that you are twisting the bible to attack them and taking it out of context. Those Christians that knew the passages were in there are likely to say it's up to you to choose to take it at face value, it's all about faith, etc. Those that are not Christians or perhaps even some Christians that agree with you will say the same thing they've always said, that some Christians are hypocrits and don't know what their own book says. This didn't cause any change at all or bring either party to a better understanding of each other. If anything it antagonized people and further polarized the opinions of people that read it. This was certainly creative and you are a very bright person so I would like to ask you to come up with another exercise that has the potential to depolarize the opinions of a few people that read it.

Ok point taken . . . they don't hurt me because I won't give them the satisfaction but you're right I guess I see how this helps other people that struggle with it . . . :) I still want to challenge(not in a bad way) you to bring the some in the two parties together as well though .')

I even have not yet considered the action picture. it variety of feels to have annoyed maximum of atheist that it is going to be of a few fee however. If it have been one in all those humorous tale why each and all of the communicate and complaint? If the scientific worldwide have been so particular of it truly is "scientific data" there could be no reason at the back of discouraging the exploration of alternative factors of view at the same time with clever layout. yet that the evolution concept is basically as unprovable as creationism makes them very worried. What if evolution replace into the consequence of "clever layout?" i assume that danger scares the heck out of a few atheistic scientists. lots so as that any scientist that dares to evaluate the prospect is ostracized right this moment.

Well, perhaps they will...and of course, it will be the fault of America's treatment of Gays...is that why we had Hurricane Katrina???? It would seem to me that it always boils down to be the Gay's fault ... no matter what the problem. The religious right has no excuse for their actions and thinking...they have great conflicts with their own bible, can't seem to agree on what "thy shalt not kill" means, and as for "Judge Not Lest Ye Be Judged" just doesn't apply to them...they have a very convenient set of exceptions to all of God's words...don't they?

And don't you love how the RR will take a verse or two out of context to prove a point then yell if you even think of doing quoting a verse to prove your point. I think that quite a few Christians may change their mind if they sat down and studied the bible and the history of Christianity

I was raised Catholic and know that there are many contradictions with the bible itself and know that some of what was written was misinterpreted, misunderstood and what some people wanted to be said in the bible.

Even until today people are still doing all of the three.

For people who use(d) God's and/or Jesus' name to harass, oppress and/or kill people in their names should be ashamed of themselves.

Wait until you go for your judgment and see what God tells you in person or spirit.

Remember, "The road to Hell is paved with Good intentions."

i do want to see the right hand path to fall since it is so full of self-righteous b.s., or at least the christian religion. i don't know where the buddists or hindus are on the hand paths, but either way, they haven't done as much damage as the christians or keep condeming each other for one stupid reason or another.

i do see christianity falling in the near future since so many are disobeying their own god's rules.
