i dont take birth control pills and i have the same problem when i get my period. i wouldnt say it is the pills that are doing it. i cant say really what causes it but thats why i have such a hard time determining pregnancy symptoms as i experience them every month i have my period and im not regular at all. so the hole skipped period dont apply to me and im sure that you and i are not the only ones that go through this however you seem concerned and therefore i would contact your doctor and ask him or her.
good luck.

Birth control pills trick your body into thinking that it is already pregnant. This goes two ways, 1) your body stops producing the necessary things that it needs to get pregnant and starts producing hormones 2) your body will react to the hormones that are affected by the pills. Therefore, you should feel some changes that are equivalent to pregnancy, such as: swelling breasts, mood changes. The other things that you are feeling from your pills are indications are a true pregnancy, but are felt usually within the 2nd and 3rd month (with the exception of peeing)
However, if you think that you are pregnant then you should go purchase a home pregnancy kit and test yourself. If you are not pregnant then make an appointment with your GYN, and get something else. There is no reason that your birth control should put you through that much....it just might be too much for your system and need something a bit more gentle.
I, personally, never found anything that balanced my hormones well. My moods got so bad that I could not stand to be around myself. But with age (around 23-25, different for everyone) my cycle started to be like clock-work. So much that I knew not to wear white on certain days.
Talk to your doctor and Good luck

The one thing you can count on is that you *don't* have a cycle when you are on the Pill. That's the entire point of taking it--it suppresses your menstrual cycle so that you can't get pregnant. Bleeding while on the Pill is not a period; it is withdrawal bleeding. It is very different in terms of what is happening inside your body.
It is rare for a woman who is on the Pill to have cycles that are very different after she stops taking it from what she had before she took it. It simply doesn't work that way. The creators of the Pill hypothesized (with no evidence) that it would work to "regulate" a woman's cycle, and convinced everyone of this "fact" before anyone had any idea what would happen! The rumors still persist, even in the medical community.
I would suggest you read _The Doctor's Case Against the Pill_ by Barbara Seaman. It discusses the risks of hormones. I haven't read the new edition, but I read the older one 30 years ago...

You may not be taking a BC pill that is right for you. The hormone dosage may be too high. I had such a hard time when I was trying to get pregnant with my son because I have all those symptoms with pms. Every month about 2 weeks bfore my period I start to feel cranky, bloated, (water retention can make you pee more often), my boobs get tender and sore and sometimes I even feel nausiated. Everyones pre menstral symptoms are different. I also have a hormone imbalance because of insulin resistance, maybe its just something us hormonally unstable gals go through(lol). If youre really concerned you should talk to your doctor about it. best wishes!

Believe it or not it IS NORMAL. The pill tricks your body into thinking it is pregnant. I had bad mood swings and nauseous all the time. I would ask your doctor about a lower dose. If it is to regulate your cycle, remember it is not giving you a true cycle. I switched back to Natural Family Planning because of the depression and my hair falling out! Some women are just more sensitive to it than others.

no one can tell you what is normal for your own body except your doctor. every womans body is different and reacts differently to hormones, pills, and medications. i can tell you that for me, it is normal, because its exactly the same thing that happened to me when i was on the pill. that is how i knew when my period was near... my breast would swell up up and i pee all the time. i wouldnt worry too much about it if i was you. but maybe you would consider changing to a different brand of birth control pill. something a little lower than what you are taking now. it might work out better for you... there are many other choices out there. good luck.

you birth control pills are to high of a dosage. you need to tell the Dr how they are affecting you and go for a lower doseage. if you wish to concieve, you have to be off birth control and may try diet and lifestyle changes to help with your menses. i have heard that accupuncture has helped with infertility.
