My mom has to go there on business for a week and I'm joining her, possibly with a friend. I'm 22 and adventurous, but I might be doing a lot of stuff alone if the friend thing doesn't happen. We'll probably be there during 4th of July week but we're not completely sure yet. So, suggestions for stuff a 20-something female could do alone during the day, and maybe stuff to do with my mom by night. Help me out!

If you like historic stuff, check out Ft. Sumter and visit historic downtown. Also, check out the ghost walk tour. Those can be really fun if you have a good guide.

Visit Hilton Head Island in South Carolina. Place called Harobr Town on the Island. Home of the MCI golf tournament every year. Nice interesting shopping at Harbor Town. Nice quaint place to just walk, shop and visit. Very near the beach.

In 2006 we had a ships reunion in Charleston. Being a collection of tin can sailors we were better interested in Laffey to ascertain the large difference between the Sumner classification and the Gearing classification which we served on. The Yorktown replaced into in the technique of redoing the flight deck so all the planes were bumped off. Having served aboard a destroyer, sixty one-sixty 3, Yorktown replaced into quite large. i imagine we would have positioned our little destroyer in her hanger deck. i wager she isn't so large compared to our maximum recent distributors.

Go to Big John's Tavern. Cheapest beer in town. Then go to High Cotton for Dinner. Most expensive restaurant in town. But both are the best. My daughter is the bartender at Big John's and Her husband is the Sou Chef at High Cotton.

If you're single- enjoy the locals!
I don't know about you- But I'm a sucker for a Southern Gentleman.
Anytime I've visited the south- I've had more fun when I've just asked around - " What do Y'all do for fun?"
Believe me, they'll make you feel at home.

Go see the CSS Hunley that is under restoration, it was the first sub to sink a ship in battle. (Civil War) North of town there is a working plantation that is real interesting, I can't remember the name of it.
