my ex and i are still friends and i'll probably call him and wish him a happy father's day, and we don't even have any kids together. i broke up with him, so it's not about moving on. if you're friends, there shouldn't be a problem. and if the ex you're talking about is the father of your child(ren) then you should definitely at least wish him a happy father's day and get him a gift so your kid(s) have something to give him.

I am married, but my sister is divorced. She does for her daughter's sake. She gets him a gift for my niece to give to him and gets her all excited about seeing him and wishing him happy Father's Day, etc. He is a total A** to my sister, but a decent father and my sis wants her daughter to have a good relationship with him. So depends on how involved he is with the kid(s) I guess.

Hell NO!!! And our grown children want nothing to do with him either. But, that is the case here, if my children were young I would make sure they had a gift for their Dad and spent the day with him (though I can't say he would reciporcate for Mothers Day).
