Half-time goes for 15 minutes Beth.
You've probably already worked out that each half is 45 minutes plus any stoppage time during the half. The exact amount of stoppage time is determined by the referee, we only see a reasonable estimate on our screens.
Various offences can carry a range of penalties for an individual player. Ranging from an indirect free kick, a direct free kick (either of which can result in a yellow card or a red card).
A yellow card is a caution, with a second yellow card offence during a game resulting in a red card.
If the offence is serious enough (eg a two footed tackle that could result in a broken leg) then an immediate red card can be issued.
A red card means that the player is immediately sent off. During the World Cup finals this also results in a one match suspension.
During normal league type matches a red card is dealt with by a judiciary panel that can apply a suspension of more than one match even up to total banning of a player for multiple red card offences during a season.
I have tried to explain this as logically as I can, I hope it helps you out.
You will probably find that your sons play under some slightly modified rules at this stage, but will play under full FIFA rules when they are older.

Each period is 45 minutes. And half-time break is 15 minutes.
By FIFA - International Federation of Association Football - rules, a player getting ejected will miss the remainder of the current game and AT LEAST the next one. If the player was ejected because of a direct red card, then the play will be reviewed by a comittee from the FIFA (in the case of the World Cup) and they will decide if the foul merits more than one day of suspension.
The next game suspension is a general rule, though the degree of severity of punishment varies among the different assosciations within FIFA.
Your sons' leagues would most likely have different rules concerning this situations.

There is 2 half-times a 45 min, half-time break is 15 min
Yellow and red cards (World Cup rules)
a) 1 yellow card - caution
b) 2 yellow cards - player misses next match (if 2 yellow cards are received in the same match he has to immediately leave the field and can ALSO not play the next match, no substitute)
c) red card - player misses remainder (no substitute), not in next match
In case b) and c) the FiFa can still decided about a longer duration of suspention
If a player received a yellow card in one game and in another game he is getting a red card (for very unsporting behaviour, intention to harm the other player etc.) the yellow card is not eliminated for the player.
Players receiving a red card are no longer to be allowed to be on the field area not even on the side of the field with their team...shower time...lol
In 'not-World-Cup' games it depends on how the accountable association has determined the rules....here in Germany for example when you see a second yellow card you see the red one and you're off the game
I hope I could help you a bit with your question

Half time starts 45 minutes into the game and lasts 15 minutes. Then the next half is started which lasts another 45 minutes (then Stopage time)
Some minor soccer leagues however don't use FIFA times and due to age, the games may be shorter including the half time.
Check your local soccer leagues website or whoever runs the soccer league.
A red card is a dismissal from the current game, and the next game.

Ok u mean when a player gets kicked out of a game?
Well the ejection is a rule on the world cup, and in some leagues in europe and south america. That is cards accumulation is in effect in some league's i think. But it depends on the rules of each league. And in mayor tournaments as the Champions league in europe and Copa Libertadores South America, yes card acumulation will make a player miss his next game, any more question dont hesitate to ask, or email. :)
Ohhhh and if your son wants to learn how to play like the best player this sport ever had get this. :)
I will bet my life, he's gonna love it, and will have lots of fun seing this great collection. :)

one half is 45 minutes. halftime is 15 minutes. a red car in a tournament means you're out of the remainder of that game and the next game. two yellow cards is the same as a red in a game. but if you get a yellow card in your last game and then get a yellow card in the other game, you are out of the next match. a yellow card is carried over during a tournament, but i heard on espn that in the fifa world cup 2006, the players will start fresh and without the previous bookings being carried over during the knockout stages.

Half time is 45 minutes.
Yes, a red card (ejection) counts for the remaining of that match and the next one.
2 yellow cards equal a red, so when the player get their second yellow card, it is like a red one.
And if he gets a yellow card, it is carried till the end of the competittion
