Get some cuticle oil from Sallys or Wal Mart may even have it. You can also get some Cuticle cream from AVON if you know anyone that sells it. I have heard that stuff really works. I use Cuticle oil though it works pretty good. I just have a bad habit of biting the side of my nails and that makes my skin look bad. I dont bite my nails and never have but the side of my fingers are a different story!!!

If your cuticles look raggedy is because you have dry skin problem, get a vitmin E oil, but before apply it wash your hand with a soap for a dry skin and then rub on your hand, but it will take time before you see the resolve, do this about twice a day with patience, you will be ok.

I would gently clip them with a cuticle clipper. But..before you do that..moisturize them (Burt's Bees has a really good cuticle cream). Push the cuticles back, and then a little snip snip and you have great looking fingers.

Don't ever cut them. After you wash your hands, push the cuticles back with your towel or buy an orange wood stick at a beauty supply store.
If you get a manicure, tell them not to cut the cuticle on the bottom, only any hang nails on the sides.

Rub them with olive oil. Warm a couple of tablespoons up in the microwave for a few seconds and rub it in. Push them back with an orangewood stick. I also recommend Burts Bees Lemon Butter Cuticle cream. You can also use lip balm in a pinch.

i use to have ugly cuticles but then I stopped biting my nails and they are fine now without any clipping or cuticle care. If you bite your nails this is the only way to end your problem.

buy a cuticle nipper. they're usually $15 or more...
they are sharp so be careful. it's a tool specificaly designed to be used to cut frayed skin close to the healthy skin. after you trim them use a cuticle oil to keep them soft. after applying the oil, work it into the skin in small circular motions. this also promotes healthy circulation and digital dexterity

First of all resist the urge to pick at them. Also make sure you moisturize daily with hand lotion that you can buy at any drug store. One important thing to remember is to make sure you take in a lot of calcium such as cheese, milk, orange juice. I use to have the same problem until I started to up my calcium intake.
