Regarding your edit... y = 90º is wrong. All the rest have shown the process, and they are right. With tthat figure, y = 108º

Find out all the angles!! LEMME DO ITT!! X=8 Y=108
Angles across are the same so you kno 7X=56
56/7=8

Angles on a line add up to 180

56+2X=72
180-72=108

The three angles all sit on a line, 7x, 2x, and y.

Since 7x=56, and 2x=16, then you have to minus those from 180 degrees.

180-56-16=108 degrees.

7x + 2x + y = 180
2x + y + 56 = 180

because a straight line = 180 degrees

x = 8
y = 108

you are supposed to find x and y

7x=56 therefore x=8

2x=2 times 8 which is 16

y= 180 -(16+56) (because vertical angles are equal)
y=180-72
y=108

9x+y=180(SUM OF ANGLES ON A STRAIGHT LINE)
9*8+Y=180
y=108
(I DON'T KNOW HOW THEY GOT 90)
