I like the premise of it all, and I think Elizabeth Montgomery struck the perfect balance between belief in the situation and finding the events surreal.
The supporting cast was brilliant with every regular. I adore Aunt Clara and Uncle Arthur particularly, but Agness Moorehead and Maurice Evans were brilliant.
I also think the show worked as a document for the progress women made during the 1960s and into the 70s. Samantha had abilitiesher husband preferred she not used -- and tried to prevent her from using them -- but as the series continued, her "work" and natural abilities became more accepted.

I think it did a good job of mimicking the stress of real life, even if the situations were unlikely. The comic timing was right on. Elizabeth Montgomery was an accomplished actress, although I always thought she had such an obnoxious voice as her cousin Serena. Some of the explanations were a stretch. I kind of admired Dick York's Darren character more than Dick Sargent - as you could really sense Dick York's energy and being eternally frustrated. However, everyone did a great job.

Bewitched is the eseence of quirky madness and magical triumph. Samantha is the chaotic whirl of energy in the household while Darren is just trying to stay out of her way. With each episode, we are given a glimpse into what it would be like to be a nose-twitching witch. My absolute favorite character is Larry Tate. The best plot lines are when Darren is trying to keep his wife's secret from Larry, but something always goes awry. Larry Tate is to Bewitched what Dr. Bellows was to I Dream of Jeannie. The perfect example of a lowly mortal dealing with a powerful being. I only wish Darren wouldn't have insisted so much that Sam not use her powers...in essence, deny who she is.

I love Bewitched. I think what I like is best is the thought that we might all be able to use witchcraft at some point in time when we needed it. Samantha was the perfect good witch, not the terrible witches we all think of. They had plenty of problems, but somehow in the end, everything turned out fine. It was a very uplifting show.

I watch Bewitched every chance that I get. I am not sure what it is about the series that causes me to watch it - maybe it has something to do with a lack of violence. But, whatever it is, is the same thing that causes me to watch Andy Griffin.

Just the idea of being able to twitch your nose to get what you want - the story lines were usually very well done. Dr. Bombay was a hoot as was Samantha's father. Agnes Moorehead played a great mother-in-law. Oh...and who could forget Clara, the bumbling elderly aunt? Don't we all have one of those?

I liked the whole concept of the show. I liked the Samantha Stephens character, but my favorite characters were Darrin Stephens [#1] (Dick York) because he was so funny and Uncle Arthur (Paul Lynde) because he was so over the top.

One of my Dad's favs. Yes, I still watch it some. Guess I watch it cause gives the message:love's magic is better than any witch can conjure up. After all, magic is never what is seems. Favorite character:Gladys the noisy neighbor we all have. Hate that she died. I liked the first "Darwin" (in Andorra's words) better than the 2.
