I know I can't be talking to EVERYBODY in the United States because I'm not seeing enough questions. How does Yahoo! divide up all the traffic it gets to make the pages slow enough for people to read? How many people get to see my question?

I would say at any given moment during a high traffic time there have to be at LEAST a few hundred questions being posted. Nobody could possibly be allowed to see all the questions because there would be way too many, so Yahoo! shows you a few of them. I think this is how it works, anyways.
