My husband and I are one of "those folks".
Personally I favor a flat tax. To me it is the fairest way to to tax individuals on their earned income. If everyone where to pay say 20% (with no loop holes), then we would all be paying the same. The only exception might be for the lowest of incomes, say those who make $20,000 or less.
I do not believe it is fair to penalize someone for making money. I have a good income because I have worked my butt off to get there.
Enough said.

.. it depends... they are taxed heavily now, but there are also loopholes in the system... I would favor a more modest rate, but no loopholes... it would probably generate more money, and the wealthy would probably like it less, since they would be paying more taxes on average probably...hahaha
what about a plan that taxes a percentage of a persons disposable income... in other words, the income that a person doesn't have to use to live... I suppose the current system attempts this, but miserably fails...

I have always considered the tax system to be too cumbersome and hard to interpret. For this reason I believe we should have a Flat Tax(15 - 18% perhaps more) with no loopholes, deductions, allowances, etc. This would probably be more fair to all.

The 16th Amendment should be repealed immediately. The entire income tax system is an egregious and unjustifiable penalty against individual productivity.

what is most fair would be a flat sales tax. people who make $$$ do not use public services any more (and probably less) than people making < $100k. it makes no sense (to me anyway) that if you work hard to make more you should have to pay more.

stop taking so much of that speedy stuff. little things like hiding revenue and illegal sources of revenue may just prevent you from experiencing your utopia of a fair income tax rate. i could be wrong, but...
