Someday. Interracial marriages used to be illegal, but now we see those laws as the hateful things they were. Someday we will probably look back on this time and feel terrible about how we acted towards homosexuals, just like now we look back on the time before the Civil Rights movement and think how terrible we were. I don't think America is actually intolerant enough NOT to legalize gay marriage. I refuse to believe it. And there will probably be considerable international pressure in the future, as well.

As far as I am aware, homosexuals can form a civil partnership, which gives them the same rights as a married couple. So, in a way it already has.
