Processor - The “brain” of the PC.

Memory - The temporary location where the processor manipulates (calculates, modifies) data.

Disk/Hard Drive - The permanent location of data and programs (applications).

Floppy disk/Diskette - Media used for small amounts of data that can be moved to/from the PC.

CD (Compact Disk)/DVD (Digital Video Disk) - Media used for large amounts of data that can be moved to/from the PC.

Keyboard - Used to enter data (and optionally launch apps and perform a few basic Windows functions).

Monitor - Displays text and graphics.

Accessories - Headphones, mic, printer, scanner, fax, copier, mouse…
