There are several things that are more important. For instance to me the amount of jobs that are NOT out there is very important. I think what really urks me though is the fact that my husband just lost his job and we tried to get our 2 children on state ins. just until he could get another job with ins. they denied us and said we made to much money. Even when we are paying for our ins we are paying a fortune then we turn around and still pay a fortune out.

No. I think the biggest problem is the fact that we are so big and rich and consumed with excess that we have resorted to petty things like this to be concerned with when the spiritual quality of our lives has taken such a noticeable nose dive; we do not want to pray in schools, or have the ten commandments publicly visible, even as a historical reminder of our orgins...we think that by using our minds and arguing over treating social symptoms that we can somehow come to the answers when the cause is that many people don't want the answers. We are all angry, and we are looking for a change, yet, we are still too spoiled to be grateful for what we have, and still refuse to look around us at a hurting world that is literally clawing against our gates out of envy for the liberty and wealth that we abuse daily, that the above said questions are only a tip of the iceberg of examples of the anal retentiveness that is apparent because of our complacency and resulting lack of reality. There are black and whites, and there are moral absolutes, but many have chosen to live in the gray areas which result in confusion and lack of substance. Isn't this why we have a congress?

"More important things"...like what? An unnecessary war that is taking young lives as well as those of innocent civilians? Yes, these two issues are very important, because they make our country either a good or a bad place to live. Flag burning is hateful, and we need to work to change this behavior. Trying to abolish gay marriage is also hateful, and I hope the liberals win this side of the debate. If we don't have love, what do we have?

Gay marriage and flag burning are absolutely not the biggest problems this country faces. Congress should be focusing on such things as high gas prices, the economy, the rising cost of college tuition, health care, and most of all the War in Iraq.

Gay marriage is not a problem. The congress is making a problem out of it!!! Are all American equal in rights? WRONG!
Flag burning... a problem? C'mon! Congressman just want us to believe they are working hard so they get the almost $200,000 dollars they make a year.
I completely agree that there are more important issues to deal withy right now, like: withdrawing from Iraq (It's costing too much of OUR money!), gas prices, security... etc.

Gay marrige is a non issue .But the Poiticians are dragging it because a sizable percentage of population is gay and their vote can make the critical differance. On the other hand Flag burning is like a sin ,The flag belongs to all the people and the Nation and not to any political party.Flag must be respected at any cost.

Forget about the flags; that is not really an issue!
But the gays are a very big issue! Time and again in human history bad morals like that were the reason of the downfall of entire empires!
These gay practices in themselves are already despicable enough, but what makes it even nore despicable is that there are really politicians, who want to legalize that practice and want to put it on the same level as an honest marriage! These politicians after all are more despicable than these gays themselves!

Now THAT'S an important question! Watch and see how many different answers you will get from people who try their best to stick up for the issues that don't matter, vs. the issues that mean the most to humanity! You are SOO RIGHT ON, my friend!! We're going to have to hope that there are enough people of intellect and common sense by this November, when we have the opportunity, NAY, THE RESPONSIBILITY to drive these men and women who have NO CONSCIENCES from their positions of so-called "leadership"!! Thanks for being a voice of reason in an ocean of drowning imbeciles!!!

Yep there are definitely more important subjects the Congress Should be discussing.
They really are a bunch or morons, aren't they. What's on the agenda next week? It wouldn't be finding more resources for school funding, or funding for our vets and their families, or something Important such as that.

No they are not. This is how congress changes the subject when they don't want to deal with real issues. However both issues as are part of a much larger systemic problem facing America; Defining who we are......

Yes there are a lot more important things. Where is the talk about education or the troops over seas, or people having babies in the bathrooms just to kill them and throw them away. Where is the congress acting on that ****?!
