I read things like (concerning Solar power), huge cost,, doesn't work when sun not shining, need batteries (complicated set up) Gee - did the oil companies tell you that? Hooey - I don't believe any of it. If the America people demand a product is becomes cheaper and easy to install, etc. Aka: Free Market

The thing is the oil compagnies don't want to lose money so they brainwash people into thinking the alternative isn't any good.
Meanwhile the others are powerless.
(The Oil compagnies are more powerful than the latter)

It appears that the brainwashing has been done on you. Who convinced you that all of the Americans have been brain washed. Furthurmore, you have no conception of what is involved in operating with solar power. Do you know the different forms of sloar power? One is wind, another is heat, given those two items I just bet you are a sloar power system yourself. HOTAIR The best thing you could do for the energy situation, globally, is to give up driving, electricity, central heating, air conditioning and all of those other conveinces which you have. Why don't you just invent the prepetual machine and make everyone happy? Put your brain in motion before your mouth and just maybe you will grow up to be a real person. Right now you are a very misinformed little girl.

Its not oil companies its just common sense. If solar power was a big hit companies would have invested millions in it. the technology is just not as reliable or standard yet. Its expensive, fragile and tempermental. Would you want your family's home power souce to be unreliable? What about hospitals?

Check out what the engineers are saying about solar power. Its nice once in a while but not as an alternative energy to replace oil. I know I dont want to freeze in the winter and wait until the solar panel fully charge the batteries to run my heater.

Not all Americans think this way, silly. All Americans would love a car that never had tobe refuled, so you are so smart, then get off your high horse and come up with a car which drives over 100 MPH and never has tobe filled with anything.

It's a simple task, and after you invent this, someone will offer you more money than you could ever make in your life, just to keep the idea out of our economy. This happend in the 1970's, I know a man who invented a device which could be adapted to any car to get 70 MPG. on any V8 engine. Yes, he did this, and GM bought this from him for 10 million dollars, more than he could have ever made in 1970, even from the idea.

It's cheaper and easier to get light sweet crude oil. There are many, many other sources of energy but no one cares because they cost more.

You may be right about alternative sources becoming cheaper if they were more prevalent, but we are all far too greedy to look farther than "What does it cost RIGHT NOW?"

Thinking only of money, I think we should still migrate even if alternatives are more expensive because we're spending billions on a war that we probably wouldn't even have fought if not for oil.

I do not think that it is an issue of a bad thing. I think it deals with the unmentioning of it on a larger scale. Argentina has found a way to rely wholly on alternate fuels, and stay away from the oil competition completely. I think that it also deals with no one profiting from this proposition. When oil companies and car manufactures can find a way to make as much money from alternate fuel as they can oil, we will not see any relief in sight.

The free market is exactly whats stopping solar. The technology that works best is expensive to install. I looked at solar for several projects and it just doesn't pay for itself fast enough. There are also other problems that must be considered that require special engineering and more costs. I

I agree that the current Administration and the Oil Companies are engaged in Brainwashing.
However, I believe that the Brainwashing has been unsuccessful and that there are Thousands of thinking Americans who agree with you. However there are few who will put pen to paper and communicate their concerns to their Senators and Representative. The US Voters are not Pro-Active Politically.

We're oil junkies and it seems that many amercians love getting gangbanged by gas pumps. I'm with you on alternative fuels.

Now if we can run cars on filtered water, by extracting hydrogen from oxygen and other minerals, with the use of a certain in-car device, the oil companies would s*** a brick building because we wouldn't pay a penny to fuel up our cars

I have solar power on my sailboat but until it is perfected I will continue with traditional power in my life. No oil company influence, no conspiracy, just plan old common sense. - I want to travel, be warm or cool at home & in car, convenience is important to me. May not be politically correct, but I want what I want.
