I suggest a 5th choice kick yourself in the @ss and 2 get the laptop back then 4 move.
become his worst night mare start showing up in the middle of his dates or when he has another chick at his place make sound like you two are still dating and you just caught him cheating. after the other girls leave tell him this will continue until you get $1400 in cash or a working laptop back.

Well, it would be nice to kill him but that is illegal. You shouldn't ask for a present back once you have given it, proper etiquette, putting a contract on him would cost you more than it is worth. So just move on.

Thank your stars as you learnt a big lesson for peanuts. He might have even robbed you of much more if he had stayed. Go for 2 only to tell him his worth, if not move on for 4.

2; 3; 1; 4.
In that order, depending on results of previous step.
BTW, would you like to be my girlfriend?
I'd like a new car if you can afford it.
I'll even you leave you a thank you note when I run off with it.

sue!! Take it to People's court and sue!!
Don't keel...he's not worth however long you'd wind up in jail for doing such an act.
How can you ask for it back if you don't know where he's at??
Otherwise, move on and remember the hard lesson you have just learned.

If it was a gift, there's nothing you can do. You could say that he was going to pay you for it and sue him in small claims court. Learn from it and move on otherwise.
