my brother in law badly beat my poor mother in law....he is a coward

Hopefully for life. Why would someone want to assault an elderly person in the first place. Scum of the earth. Don't need freedom to do it again

Too many variables that we don't know about to determine an answer. It depends on the severity of the beating, if the perpetrator has any previous criminal record or a history of committing assaults, which state this incident occurred, what the exact circumstances were, if the perpetrator lives in the same home as the victim, if the perpetrator was in a position of power such as a caregiver, etc.

First and foremost, get the poor woman to a doctor not only for treatment, but to get some type of documentation as to the extent of her injuries. If it hasn't already been done, call the police as soon as humanly possible and get this shmuck behind bars where he isn't able to beat up anymore little old ladies.

Well I have seen how the "law" works and he may not get alot or he might get some community service.
