We were having a discussion in Current Events at my university, and I was shocked at how many students didn't know who Kim Jong-il was!!

It was like mind-blowing...how outta touch people are with current events...especially everything thats going on with N. Korea.

So my question is...how many people do you think could recongize this man if he was walkin the streets?

I guess they missed Team America World Police! I was an intelligence analyst who was stationed for two years in South Korea. I studied him, his habits, his likes (Elvis movies and young girls), dislikes, and his ideals.

Now, you'd think with him being our major threat in South Korea that more joes would know what he looked like, right? The ones that realised that Pyong yang was in North Korea (small percentage) still thought Kim Il Sung was in power. Most had no clue, wanted to have no clue, and were only concerned with which way to point their rifles.

The civilian populace only gets interested when an article comes out in TIME or something. They read it, then forget. He's pretty broke, and times are always tough in his neck of the woods. But he's a crafty buggar. He likes taking missles and hacking them up, sticking them together in fun new ways, and sending them off. Just to see how they break up. Hard to track warheads closely when you're looking a dozen blips on a screen.

Once he rears his ugly head, and you can bet he'll be friendly with China (he's got history with them), people will know him quite well.

There would be some, since there are not that many people with big granny glasses and an over-abundance of mousse making their hair stand straight up...oops, that's Dennis Rodman.

Never mind.

Hell No, he wouldn't be recognized! I'm American, but I can tell you that the average American knows NOTHING about politics or what goes on in the world today. They rely heavily on the media to make their decisions for them......
