I love both bands.
Montrose was Ronnie Montrose and Sammy Hagar.
Its one helluva tough decision to pick just one.
I do prefer the original Lynard Skynard stuff over the new.

Lynyrd Skynyrd definitely although Montrose was good. (TRIVIA - I believe Sammy Hagar of Van Halen was Montrose original singer by the way. Ronnie Montrose was at one time Edgar Winters guitarist. As far as Lynyrd Skynyrd one of their original
guitarists and fouding member Ed King was in Ther Strawberry Alarm Clock. Ever heard Incense and Peppermints on the oldies stations?)

I love Montrose! Kick *** band back in the day with Ronnie Montrose and a very young (17) Sammy Hagar. Lyn Skyn are crybabies, no offense to you, babe. But listen to the words of a lot of their songs. And yes, I'm pissed at them because last summer I had 4 great tix to go see them here in Dallas and they canceled. They said they'd reschedule but guess what, they haven't ever returned! %&*# them!

i lean toward.....both!!!!! they all have something to offer, and I am unable to pick/choose a favorite. My dad listens to both, so its what i grew up with.
