You can use Yahoo messenger and chat through there. There are other IM programs but Messenger is among the best and you are already on Yahoo.

There is an instant messenger program that you can download, at download.com, it is called trillian, and oit will allow you to use all the instant messenger programs in one, aim, yahoo, msn, etc, so you don't have to download 3 different instant messenger programs for the different ones

You can use Yahoo messenger. But, if you have people you know on others too, (such as msn or AOL) you can get a program called GAIM. That's at http://gaim.sourceforge.net/
