No, we should definitely not let gang violence carry on. True, the stupid are killing the stupid, but other people usually end up getting hurt as well, like innocent, non-stupid bystanders. Furthermore, children are dragged into the mess, and even though all of these gang members may seem like idiots, they can always be taught to become a better person. Everyone can. It's a shame how the media portrays gang members as attractive people when the truth is, gangs are one of the worst, most ridiculous things around today. People of the future will look down upon us in shame for worshipping such a thing. The "brotherhood," and whatnot that occur in a gang are fantastic but shooting one another over territorial issues? Now that's just so... primitive, and it's such a weak way to show "masculinity." "Masculinity," will lead to ultimate destruction if gang violence continues. We need to stop supporting it, and some of us need to stop praising it. Enough lives have been lost so carelessly already, and we can't let those lives go to waste and not learn from their deaths, and allow their deaths to become part of a rising statistic. One death should've been enough.

The conception that 'gangs' are comprised of stupid people is first a wrong one. Some gang members actually have high I.Q. but lacked proper education. Gangs were orginally groups that supported eachother on the streets... a method of survival. They have long since turned into something many young people believe to be cool, rather than nesscisary due to their steorotypical conceptions and desire to grow up faster. and to keep their lifes interesting and make themselfs feel as if their lifes do infact have meaning they create pointless battles amoung themselfs.
These things could very well go on with out the care of the police and citizens as all the majority sees these pointless conflicts as are scum vs. scum... as you might put it, but deep inside their is so much more to the streets than you know.

What about 16 year old Jane Creba,
She was killed while boxing day shopping here in Toronto last year?
WHAT ABOUT HER LIFE? WHAT ABOUT HER FUTURE?

gangsters are not poor, they rob people, they deal in guns and drugs, they have more money then you and I put together.

That's a bunch of crock too. There are many people that don't have diplomas hanging on their walls, doesn't mean they are going to go around killing people!! Anyone, gang member or not, should be sent to San Clemente Island in Ca.,if they are convicted of a violent crime. They would learn to live together or die together. And they can dodge the bombs from Camp Pendelton when the marines practice shooting.

violence is a function of education. Increase education and violence (as well as health and wealth) increases.

Just teach them to shoot so that not so many innocent people get killed. Near my town, in a drive by, 58 rounds fired and the guy was hit once in the lower shin. 58 rounds, were they shooting with their eyes open? I'm beginning think they hit the guy by accident and weren't trying to shoot him at all.
