I have to get braces. one orthodontist says i need 4 teeth out, one says i only need 2. i'm getting 2 top teeth pulled out, do i have to get the same bottom teeth out too for it to match? my mom says that for an oral surgeon, i wouldn't see much blood and it mite be better. is she right? which orthodontist should i choose. also, if you've gotten teeth pulled out, on a scale of 1 to 10, how much does it hurt?

When I had my wisdom teeth removed I went to an oral surgeon, they put me to sleep to do it. It hurt afterwards, a whole bunch of swelling and painkillers the next two weeks. Hard to say about orthodonists, don't live in your city. Good luck and try to sleep off the pain as much as you can!

You will feel achy and a bit sore for a few days. Getting bottom teeth pulled hurts more than the top. If you need braces, don't let that stop you. There is a little blood after the operation while you are healing but not enough to worry you. I'm a wimp when it comes to pain so for me, it was painful. I have talked to other people who had no problems and were feeling fine in two days.

I had all 4 wisdom teeth pulled at once, and they were not through the gums yet and honestly I said to "let me know when you are gonna start" and he was already done. i had to get shots and that was uncomfortable but nothing I couldn;t stand. I didn;t cry or anything...I would give it a 2. About the same as a filling.

Your mom can help you choose the orthodontist...

No, you don't have to get the same amount top, and bottom out to match. Before i got mine they took 4 on top and 2 on bottom. I did not have an oral surgeon do it, just a dentist and it was fine. I felt the injection for the pain killer, but once that was over, i felt nothing. The shot itself is not too bad, just try to relax.

It's Actually Not That Bad. More Soreness Than Pain.

The actual pulling of the teeth won't be too bad because you will be numbed. Afterwards your mouth/gums will be tender. Hello milkshakes!

I am sorry but I have to be honest with you, it might hurt. Braces will hurt more though.
