You can always tell if your computer is behaving differently. Does it show pop-ups even if you're not online, is it slower than usual? These are sometimes the effects of spyware. You can always use a spyware detection software to make sure you haave them or not.

It can show the symptons of your computer infected with spyware, such as pop-ups always poppig up (even with a pop-up blocker), your pc is slowing down, on occassions, your browser's home page is switched, and warning messages.
Get McAfee or Norton, they are the best.

the most obvious is if there is an icon that says that your computer is infected. other things can include frequent pop-ups, (even with pop-up blocker turned on) computer is unusually slow, certain softwares dont work properly, and certain new programs suddenly appearing on your desktop.
