Tom and Ray (Click and Clack of the Cartalk radio show, www.cartalk.com) identify themselves as "The Tappert Brothers" on their show, but the website is copyrighted Tom and Ray Magliozzi. Which is it, are they Tappert or Magliozzi? Is Tappert merely a stage name?

Actually as the first answerer pointed out it is "Tappet" (they have it misspelled on a page on their website).

Hay is right. It is Tappet. When you have a tappet going out, the engine makes a clicking noise. Get it? Click and Clack, the Tappet Brothers?

I always thought they said "Tappet" Brothers. A tappet is part of an engine. Kind of like the Blues Brothers - a nickname.
