Only Male frogs croak. So he is probably calling for female company.

well, if you mean it made a noise like "croak", I would recommend petting it, it probably wants some attention. If you mean it died, well, I think most frogs prefer a simple funeral if a burial prier is not an option. I like frogs, I hope its the former.

How large was he? I will not suggest to eat the legs, that would be mean for you. Just dispose of him and find a new pet of your choice, frog or not.

Depends on what you mean by croaked. If he is still alive, feed him. If not, I think your work is done.

Unless he died. Then bury him if you were attached to him, or eat him if you weren't.
