It is not you. There is a high level of actual prejudice that every blonde woman will face. While "gentlemen' may 'prefer blonds" they do not really think to highly of their brain and mental abilities. They do, in fact, generally think that a beautiful blonde really can't be smart also. You will find this with your friends, in school, with teachers and in the work place. It is rampant and that is why the jokes continue and continue because men (and because of the brainwashing many women also) truly believe it. The prejudice is especially true against beautiful blonds. Jessica Simpson is making millions playing it to the hilt. Unfortunately everyone can not capitalize on being blonde and beautiful in the entertainment field. I am a Blonde, but I am a male Blonde. However, I notice that there are very few, if any, jokes about dumb blonds who are male. I think the prejudice against beautiful, female blondes was created by a male population who is generally threatened by beautiful smart women in general and the dumb blonde jokes are their way of trying to feel superior or at least not inferior. They get away with this sexist attitude and behavior because so many women have bought into it, put up with it, and even tell dumb blonde jokes themselves. I refuse to laugh at dumb blonde jokes just as I do about racist jokes and I think every woman should be outraged at every dumb blonde joke they hear. Dumb blonde jokes are really only a disguised sexist attack on women.

It used to bother me. Ofcourse, when people classify a certain group as this way or that way, it's arrogant, close-minded and show's how low their I.Q. REALLY is! I mean, let's face it, the dumb blonde jokes are here to stay and yes they do get old and you get to a point where you hardly think you can stand even ONE more.....then that's when you do what I did...embrace it! Start telling blonde jokes yourself. Suddenly you'll find you don't mind them anymore because embracing something gives YOU the power. Try it! You'll see!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! -Blondie
